Rats are larger, stronger, and warier than mice. They damage structures and wiring, contaminate food, and can carry disease — and need only a quarter-sized hole to get in.
Larger (6–9" body) with a heavy body and thick tail. Norway rats burrow low; roof rats climb and nest high.
What attracts them: Garbage, pet food, fallen fruit, dense vegetation, clutter, and standing water.
Rats are persistent and cautious — professional baiting, trapping, and exclusion is far more effective (and safer) than DIY.
